How search capabilities work
The assistant uses several search methods to find content in your archive.
Search Types
The assistant automatically selects the best search method:
Keyword Search
Finds exact word matches in transcripts. Best for:
- Specific phrases or quotes
- Names and proper nouns
- Technical terms
Semantic Search
Finds conceptually related content, even without exact matches. Best for:
- Topics and themes
- Paraphrased concepts
- Questions like "episodes about growth strategies"
Speaker Search
Filters results to a specific speaker. Useful for:
- "What did [name] say about..."
- Finding all quotes from a guest
Search Results
Results include:
- Segment text - The matching transcript portion
- Episode info - Title and publish date
- Speaker - Who said it
- Timestamp - When in the episode
- Deep link - Click to jump to that moment
Tagging from Search
Found something you want to organize? Ask the assistant to:
- Create a new tag ("Create a tag called 'Marketing Tips'")
- Apply tags to results ("Tag these segments with 'Marketing Tips'")
The assistant will show you a preview before applying bulk tags.
Tips for Effective Search
- Use quotes for exact phrases: "product launch"
- Include date ranges when relevant: "in the last 3 months"
- Specify speakers to narrow results: "when Sarah discussed..."
- Try semantic search if keyword search returns no results
